Veeco Productions is proud to present 9191, a sideways introspective into the bewildering snow-covered dreamscape of international time traveler and mystic of the shred, Gigi Rüf. Every year Gigi circles the stratosphere in the name of snowboarding and 9191 is the accumulation of his visions from a season, documented in 16mm film, super 8, and highly defined video. Original soundtrack produced by Baron (Extremely Sorry), exclusively for Volcom Entertainment. Hold onto your schnitzel and Viel spass!!!
9191 was filmed around the globe in New Zealand, Austria, Switzerland, Jackson Hole, and Alaska. Throughout the film many of Gigi’s teammates and friends joined, Wille Yli-Louma, Bryan Iguchi, Luke Mitrani, Curtis Ciszek, Blair Habenicht, Nicolas Muller, Jake Blauvelt, and Wolle Nyvelt.
9191 is a 22-minute film with an original soundtrack composed by Piers Baron. It will be the first ever snowboard movie to have an original score from start to finish and will feature many high profile musical guest (to be announced soon).
To promote the film and soundtrack we will do an 18 stop tour, print and banner ad campaign (with select major snowboarding, music and lifestyle publications), original website (9191moive.com) and interactive social media/web contest. The tour will travel the world in 25 days visiting 18 cities in 9 countries reaching more than 15,000 people. The website will consist of behind the scene videos, photos, tour blog and host the interactive web contest.
The interactive web contest will be an online word search. Everyday for 26 days leading up to the premiere, we will be releasing clues A through Z about what Gigi would bring on a snowboarding trip. So, an “A” clue would go something like this, “I’m going on a snowboarding trip and I’m bringing an Avalanche Beacon”. The contestant will email all 26 word clues to a specific email address we will announce with the contest. Everyone that guesses all 26 clues correctly will get a limited edition signed 9191 movie poster and will be entered to win the grand prize: A trip to the Volcom team house in Austria to ride with Gigi. We’ll also include complete setup, beanie, gloves, jacket, pants and Volcom snowboard.
The winner will be chosen randomly shortly after the last clue is announced!
