The award-winning Machete features Ride's LowRize rocker shape which eliminates hook without sacrificing pop. Cutting through the competition, this go-anywhere freestyle twin combines Ride's Pop Rods 1.0 for an extra dose of pop, with smooth-riding 85A Slimewalls and durable Cleave Edge for a fun twin built to last.
The 2011-2012 Ride Machete Snowboard key features:
LowRize Rocker - This board has a nearly flat profile through the center of the board and then begins the rocker at the extended Blend Zone. This rocker lifts the contact points above the snow just enough to give the ultimate hook-free, smooth ride without taking away from pop needed in the park.
Pop Rods 1.0 -Inject added liveliness to already fun and playful boards. Using strategic placement in the tip and tail, this technology adds pop without excessive stiffness generally associated with snappy boards. Made up of flat carbon rods that wrap a urethane slime-core, Pop Rods have carbon for massive pop and a slime-core to smooth out the landings. Available in three levels: Pop Rods 1.0, 2.0 & 3.0, offering more carbon in each increased level.
Carbon Array 3 - This power distribution technology provides total board control in every stance location. Widespread carbon stringers at the binding zone gather input from any stance width and all pressure angles. Rider input is then transferred to the opposing contact point for maxed out board control. Three levels of technology are available from 3, 5, to 7 rays.
85A Slimewalls - Ride’s exclusive Slimewalls are forgiving and ductile, absorbing impacts rather than defending against them. Just like skate wheels, the urethane in Slimewalls smoothes the interaction with the snow, wood, or metal surfaces you may ride on. On top of that, these sidewalls are virtually indestructible, the most durable in the industry.
Biaxial Glass - 90 degrees and 0 degree angled lay-up for a fun and forgiving ride.
Thin Con - Featuring tapered tips and tails, enhanced tip flex, reduced swing weight and sidewalls that run past the effective edge, Ride’s Thin Construction sets riders up for easy spins and board handling.
Cleave Edge - Nearly 50% more steel, the cleave edge provides an unmatched resistance to edge cracking and can be detuned to larger radii.
Fusion 4000 Base - This sintered base is more durable and harder than extruded and is the fastest base material known.
